Olympia Beekeepers Association (OBA) offers classes to achieve the requirements for different levels of the Master Beekeepers Program of the Washington State Beekeepers Association (WSBA). The program curriculum contains the Apprentice, the Journeyman and the Master level.
Apprentice Level:
Classes are held at 6 pm in the music room before the regular meeting. The certified Apprentice level requires beekeepers to have a minimum of knowledge and beekeeping experience. Ten lessons are provided each applicant to the program and the student is tested from the lesson material.
Master Level:
The Journeyman level requires the student be a member of a local and/or state beekeeper association and possess two years of experience in beekeeping. Knowledge and skills are deepened in this level.
