The Olympia Beekeepers Association currently holds Apprenticeship classes throughout the year. The current schedule for our next class is as follows.
Spring Apprentice Level Class
NOTE: New Apprenticeship Class starts May 21st. This will be an in person class held at the Swantown Inn (where we currently hold our meetings).
If you are somewhat new to beekeeping, want to start beekeeping, or want to refresh your knowledge and skills about beekeeping, the Apprentice Level course is for you!
This course will be held in person on Sundays at 1pm. A total of 6 classes at 2 hours per class. A hands-on and in-person session will be scheduled during the course as well.
The course fee is $50. As always it requires current membership to Olympia Beekeepers Association.
If there are multiple people in a family wanting to be certified there is an additional admin fee of $25 ($10 for the certificate, $15 for the class fee = $25). Multiple people from a family are welcome to sit in on a class (our association membership covers a household with the right for one vote), but the fee structure only covers the one person being certified.
The fee includes receiving your certificate on successful completion of the course.
Journeyman and Master Classes
Currently both the Journeyman and Master classes are on hold.
We discussed both during the January 2023 Board Meeting. Journeyman should be available in the next 6 months. we will keep members updated on this.
